Tour Details
After meeting up outside the Tung Chung Station, we'll travel by scenic cable car to Lantau Island. During the ride, we'll get spectacular views of the lush green surroundings and the Macao Bridge.
Once we arrive, we'll trek up 268 steps to pay a visit to the Giant Buddha, a large bronze statue completed in 1993 and located in the village of Ngong Ping. The statue sits next to the breathtaking Po Lin Monastery and symbolizes the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and faith. It's a major center of Buddhism in Hong Kong.
Then it'll be time to head over to Tai O, a beautiful fishing village where you can see a more traditional way of life, completely different from the one we experience in the bustling city. We'll admire the stilt houses and taste delicious local snacks and drinks.
Finally, after a total of 6 hours, we'll end the tour back at the Tung Chung metro station, where you can continue touring Hong Kong's outlets on your own or return to your hotel. The guide will give you directions to get back in the quickest and easiest way.
