Tour Description

At the indicated time, we'll start this tour after picking you up at your hotel in Holguín. From there, we'll embark on a 1-hour road trip to one of the towns with the most aboriginal history in Cuba.

We'll arrive in the area of Guardalavaca, where we'll make our way to the El Chorro de Maíta Museum. There, we'll discover an archaeological site that houses one of the largest aboriginal cemeteries in the Caribbean. Before exploring the site, we'll be greeted with a welcome cocktail while we are told some interesting facts and secrets of the ancient indigenous people of the Atlantic coast of the island.

Next, we'll take a guided tour of this enigmatic necropolis discovered in 1986. Can you imagine how many burials were found? After discovering the history of this museum, we'll visit the Taino village of Chorro de Maíta. There, we'll witness a recreation of an aboriginal ceremony performed by the locals, descendants of this ancient civilisation.

Afterwards, we'll go to a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious typical lunch where you can choose between a vegetarian dish or different seafood, fish, chicken, beef or pork dishes. Enjoy!

Feeling refuelled, we'll head to the paradisiacal Guardalavaca Beach, where you'll have 2 hours of free time to sunbathe and take a dip in the warm waters.

Finally, we'll make our way back to Holguín, where we'll say goodbye and drop you off at your hotel 7 hours after the initial pickup.
