Tasman Island Boat Trip
Tasman Island Boat Trip
Having met up at Hobart Harbour at the scheduled time, we'll set off on the 1-hour drive to Port Arthur. When we get there, we'll have tea and head to the spot where we'll board the boat for our trip around Tasman Island.
To begin, we'll skirt the isthmus of Eaglehawk Neck. As we cruise along the shores of this part of the Tasman National Park, we'll see cormorants and peregrine falcons flying overhead. If we're lucky and we have good weather, we may even spot some dolphins!
In addition, we'll see the Totem Pole rock formations, the cliffs of Cape Pillar and the sea lion colony on Tasman Island. After a 3-hour cruise, we'll return to the embarkation point in Port Arthur.
Once we're back on dry land, we'll head to a restaurant where you'll get your energy back with a delicious lunch that'll include a traditional dish. After lunch, you'll have 3 hours of free time in Port Arthur to explore the town.
We'll then return to Hobart Harbour by bus and drop you off 10 hours 15 minutes after pickup.
Boat trip + Devil Park
If you choose this option, the first part of the tour will be the same as in the activity described above. Once you've had lunch, we'll take you to Devil Park so you can visit this zoo on your own and see the famous Tasmanian devils up close.
After visiting the zoo, we'll take you back to Hobart Harbour.
Boat trip + Port Arthur Historic Site
Having done the activities detailed in the first section, you'll eat lunch at a restaurant and then have 3 hours of free time at the Port Arthur Historic Site. At this vast site, for which you'll have a ticket, you'll be able to visit a former British Empire prison complex on your own.
At the end of the visit, we'll return to the meeting point in Hobart.
Tour without transport
If you'd prefer to make your own way to the place where we'll board the boat, you can book this boat trip around Tasman Island from Port Arthur.
