Mount Field National Park Day Trip
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and head out to the scenic Derwent Valley, where we’ll take in stunning views of the local wildlife and lush landscapes, with the Derwent River as a beautiful backdrop.
On the way, we’ll pass through New Norfolk and stop at a historic salmon hatchery, offering a glimpse into Tasmania’s rich fishing traditions. We’ll enjoy a warm cup of tea before continuing our journey to Mount Field National Park.
Upon arrival at Mount Field, we’ll explore its highlights through a combination of walks and minibus rides. As we walk among towering eucalyptus trees, myrtles, and ferns, we’ll discover fascinating details about the park's flora, including species that are over 400 years old!
A key stop is Russell Falls, Tasmania’s most photographed waterfall, where you’ll have an hour of free time to enjoy lunch.
After our break, we’ll depart the park and begin the return journey to Hobart, crossing the Bowen Bridge for one last, unforgettable view of the Derwent River.
After six and a half to seven hours, we’ll wrap up the tour by dropping you off at your hotel.
