Mekong Delta 2-Day Tour
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho – Ben Tre – Can Tho
Our adventure begins when we pick you up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. From there, we'll set off for My Tho, a charming town in the Mekong Delta.
Upon our arrival, we'll explore the historic Vinh Trang Pagoda, a place of worship dating back to the late 19th century. Next, we'll board a traditional sampan boat, setting sail on a river voyage around the enchanting Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise Islands.
We'll stop on Unicorn Island, where you can stroll along village paths lined with orchards. Here, you can try tropical fruits, enjoy the sound of Vietnamese folk music performed by locals, and explore a fruit plantation.
We'll then board the sampan again and ride through the picturesque Thoi Son canal. Here, you'll be able to take in the views of the countryside, explore a family-run bee-keeping farm, enjoy some honey tea, and attend a coconut candy workshop. Following these activities, we'll head to a local restaurant for a delectable lunch and a well-deserved break.
Later in the day, we'll do some cycling around the charming Tan Thach village, allowing you to connect with the local way of life. If you prefer a slower pace, you can relax in hammocks instead. The day concludes with our journey to Can Tho City, where we'll stay overnight.
Day 2: Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Ho Chi Minh City
We'll start the day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Following this, it'll be time to take a boat ride to explore the tributaries of the Lower Mekong River, known as the Bassac River. This voyage will lead us to the renowned Cai Rang Floating Market, a vibrant place that offers a great opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture.
Then, we'll take a guided tour of a noodle factory. Here, you can witness the fascinating noodle-making process, a very important part of Vietnamese cuisine. Afterwards, we'll hop back on board a boat to visit a delightful fruit plantation. You'll get to sample some seasonal fruits, yum!
The adventure continues with a visit to the Munir Ansay Pagoda, an extraordinary Khmer temple celebrated for its unique architecture and cultural importance.
Finally, following another delicious lunch, it'll be time to say goodbye to the Mekong Delta and return to Ho Chi Minh City, where we'll end our tour back at your hotel.
