Embark on a scenic bike tour through the mountains of Castilla y León and Extremadura, following the historic Vía Verde de la Plata, once the path of an ancient railway!
Tour Highlights
We'll meet up at the designated time on Avenida de la Constitución in Hervás, a town in the beautiful Ambroz Valley in Cáceres.
Setting off towards the starting point of the route, located in the upper part of Béjar, a town in Salamanca, we'll gather all the necessary equipment and provide instructions for the bike tour along the Vía Verde de la Plata.
We'll set off and navigate through the striking landscapes of the Sierra de Béjar mountains, traversing lush forests. An intriguing aspect of this route is its alignment with a 19th-century railway path—the Vía Verde de la Plata, once connecting Plasencia and Astorga by train.
Over 3 hours, we'll pedal through the breathtaking scenery of the Ambroz Valley, passing by notable towns like Béjar and Baños de Montemayor.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point in Hervás, where we'll return the bikes and bid farewell. Until next time!
