Heraklion Private Tour
Tour Details
At the appointed time, we’ll meet in front of Hari's Creperiê to begin our private tour of Heraklion. Ready to explore the city’s rich history and most iconic landmarks? Let’s get started!
Our first stop will be the Church of St. Titus, a site with a fascinating past. Originally a Byzantine church, it was later converted into an Ottoman mosque before being rebuilt in the mid-19th century. Today, it stands as a tribute to the island's patron saint.
As we walk through Crete's capital, you’ll see the influence of the many civilizations that have left their mark here, including Armenians, Greeks, and Arabs. We’ll pass by the Heraklion Loggia and admire the grandeur of the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Minas, one of the largest churches in Greece.
The tour continues through the historic center, where we’ll marvel at the facade of St. Mark's Basilica and stop at Morosini Fountain Square. Here, you’ll have the chance to taste two local favorites: raki, Crete’s traditional spirit, and bougatsa, a delicious sweet or savory pastry.
Before concluding the tour, we’ll visit Heraklion’s Central Market to browse its traditional craft stalls and experience its lively atmosphere. Finally, we’ll return to the starting point, where we’ll say our goodbyes after 2.5 hours together.
