Lassithi Plateau Day Trip
Description
At the indicated time, we'll convene at our meeting point in Heraklion and set off on our day trip to the most beautiful parts of Crete's Lassithi Plateau.
Our first stop will be at the Kera Kardiotissa Monastery, which sustained significant damage during the Cretan uprising. Here, we'll enjoy an hour-long guided tour. Today, this monastery is a place where many pilgrims from all over the island gather. While we're here, we'll discuss the monastery's incredible architecture and iconography.
As we drive to the next stop on our day trip around the Lassithi Plateau, we'll look out at marvellous views of Crete's iconic windmills and natural scenery.
We'll then arrive at the village of Psychro. This place is a famous pottery hub and boasts numerous pottery workshops, we'll visit one and watch the skilled craftsmen making beautiful pots.
The final stop on our day trip will be the small village of Tzermiado, the capital of the Lassithi Plateau. You'll have 1 hour of free time here to have lunch at one of its restaurants.
It'll then be time to return to Heraklion, where we'll arrive after 8 hours in total.
