Heraklion Archaeological Museum Guided Tour
Tour Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of Hari’s Creperiê and, once we're all there, we'll walk to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum to start this guided tour.
Did you know that it has the largest collection of Minoan art in the world? You can find unique pieces dating back to 6000 BC and antiquities that span Crete's past from the Neolithic to Roman times. It's therefore also considered one of the most important museums in Europe.
The exhibition is divided into 27 rooms, including the Minoan collection, the Minoan frescoes and the historical period. During the tour, we'll see the oldest finds from the island, from millennia-old everyday items to weapons.
We'll also see the most famous objects, such as the Minoan snake goddess figurines, the reconstruction of the fresco Prince of the Lilies, the Minoan gold ring with a representation of a kind of ritual. We'll also see Minoan pottery painted with figures of birds and fish.
After 2 hours of this journey into the past, we'll end the activity at the starting point.
