Big Island Snorkel Tour
Options
When booking, you can choose from three different options. All of them start at Kealakehe Pkwy and include boat transportation, an English-speaking guide, and snorkeling equipment. Below, you can see the particularities of each option:
Snorkeling in Pawai Bay
In this option, we'll approach one of the most beautiful and exclusive bays on the Kona coast, Pawai Bay. There, you can snorkel and enjoy the wonders of the seabed as well as the numerous lava rock formations that have been sculpted over the years. The snorkeling activity in Pawai Bay lasts two hours.
Schedule: this option starts at 1:30 pm.
Snorkeling in Kona
After getting on the boat, we'll go in search of the most beautiful coral reefs off the coast of Kona. During the activity, we'll take you to eight different reefs where you'll be able to go snorkeling and admire the beauty of the seabed. In this option, you'll have the opportunity to see dolphins, manta rays, and whales while we sail.
After three and a half hours, we'll return to the starting point.
Schedule: this option starts at 8:30 am.
Snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay
We'll get on a small boat to go to Kealakekua Bay. Did you know that Captain James Cook was killed here? You'll find a monument in his honor on the shore. But... let's stop talking about what happens on land and focus on the sea. The waters of this bay stand out for their unspoiled nature and can only be reached by boat or via a path that takes several hours to walk.
Bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales, spotted dolphins, and manta rays await in its waters. We'll of course also admire the spectacular cliffs and sea caves that have been formed by ancient lava flows in the area. After a four-hour tour, we'll return to the starting point.
Schedule: this option starts at 8:30 am.
Whale watching
During the months of December and April, there are often whales found in the waters around Hawaii, and if you do the activity at this time of year we'll try and get close to some. Please bear in mind that the creatures are unpredictable, and depending on sea currents, wind and weather conditions at the time of your tour, the number of whales may vary.
