Valle de Viñales 2-Day Excursion
Description
Day 1
We'll start this 2-day trip by picking you up at your accommodation in La Habana and making our way to Valle de Viñales. Such a beautiful place, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999.
On our way, we'll pass various tobacco farms, one of the main products cultivated in the valley. It's also known as the best producer of tobacco on the island! Once we arrive in Viñales, we'll visit a tobacco factory to learn about the cultivation process and witness the traditional practice of rolling the famous Cuban cigars.
The next stop on our journey will be a stop at the Prehistoric Mural, one of the oldest open-air frescos in the world. Drawn on nothing less than rock dated all the way back to the Jurassic period!
To end our first day, we'll enjoy a delicious meal of typical Cuban flavors coupled with traditional music, creating the perfect ambiance. Before calling it a day, we'll enter the Cueva del Indio, an ancient cavern full of mineral structures. We'll take a short boat ride to explore the river within this cave that leads to a beautiful grotto.
After this full and complete day, we'll drop you off at your hotel for the night to rest and get ready for a second day of exploring and nature.
Day 2
On the second day, we'll get an early start with a wonderful breakfast accompanied by a sunrise over Valle de Viñales. What better way to start the day?
No excursion would be complete without a little adrenaline rush, so we'll take it to new heights with some ziplining circuits. We'll slide down zip lines as long as 400 meters (1312 feet) as nature rushes past you in a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
To bring you back down to earth, we'll hop on horseback and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes this area has to offer. We'll gallop through the famous hills of Viñales and through the Valle del Silencio.
After all that energy spent, we'll enjoy more typical Cuban cuisine before getting back in the car to head back to La Habana. Not before making one last stop at Mirador de los Jazmines looking point, also known as Viñales balcony.
Bringing this nature adventure to a close, we'll part ways bring you back to the starting point where we left La Habana, with an estimated arrival time between 5 and 6 pm.
