Can you imagine a journey through the buildings of Havana's golden years, where the Mafia and organised crime left a great mark? At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Hotel Sevilla, where we'll begin to discover the historical, economic, social and cultural context that made Cuba a favourite destination amongst members of the Italian-American Mafia.
On this tour, you'll learn about the leaders of the most powerful Mafia families on the island during this time: Meyer Lansky, Santo Trafficante, Amadeo Barletta and Amleto Battisti. From the park, we'll walk along Agramonte Avenue towards Sloppy Joe's Bar, where we'll learn about the famous drinks and cocktails in Havana.
We'll continue the tour towards the Capitolio Nacional, walking around it and passing by some iconic locations such as Parque de la Fraternidad, the Hotel Saratoga and the Hotel New York. At the latter location, we'll hop in a car to continue this gangster tour of Havana.
We'll then visit San Lázaro Street, where we'll discover the secrets of the old brothels of Paseo del Prado and Casa de Carmen. Then we'll enter the old town and central Havana, areas where we'll recount the relationship between the poor neighbourhoods and the Mafia. We'll see iconic locations such as Hotel Deuville and the Havana Atlantic Bank and the America Threatre.
We'll also reveal the secrets of the great cabarets of the time, including the Tropicana, the Montmartre, the Salón Rojo del Capri and the Parisién of the Hotel Nacional de Cuba. Finally, we'll make a stop at the famous Hotel Riviera, facing the Malecón.
Finally, we'll finish our tour after 3 hours at the Hotel Nacional, where we'll enjoy a drink together. Cheers!
