Tuk Tuk Tour (4 hours)
After meeting at your hotel in Haputale, we'll embark on a journey to one of the most famous tea plantations in the world!
The history of tea in Sri Lanka began more than 200 years ago and, as we tour the plantations, we'll appreciate how important this drink is to the country. We'll get on the tuk-tuk and head to our destination, where we'll be surrounded by a unique and breathtaking lush landscape.
We'll walk among the Lipton black tea plantations and see how the workers pick the leaves. You can even pick some yourself! Finally, we'll take a break to recharge our batteries with a snack before returning to your hotel.
Tuk Tuk Tour + Cooking Class (7 hours)
If in addition to touring the tea plantations, you'd also like to try the traditional dishes of the area, this is the perfect option for you! Besides the above-mentioned itinerary, we'll also travel by tuk-tuk to a private house to learn how to prepare delicious dishes typical of Haputale.
Together with the owner of the house, we'll prepare a complete menu with local ingredients. The best part? When we finish cooking, we'll taste all the recipes we've created!
Tuk Tuk Tour + Tea Factory Visit (7 hours)
Want to know even more about Haputale's most precious treasure? With this option, besides touring the famous Lipton plantations, we'll also visit the facilities of a tea factory!
After strolling among the tea plantations, we'll continue the route with a 3-mile (5 km) walk to the factory, where we'll learn all the secrets of tea!
Finally, we'll hike another 3 miles (5 km) to return and have a light picnic lunch before returning to your hotel.
