2-Day Tour
Day 1: Hanoi - Sapa - Ta Van
We'll begin our adventure with a pickup from your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter, where you'll board a comfortable bus for the journey to Sapa. Along the 7-hour drive, we’ll make a couple of rest stops before reaching the town of Sapa, known for its stunning landscapes and colorful communities.
Upon arriving in Sapa, our guide will take you to a local restaurant where you’ll enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch. Afterward, we’ll set off on a scenic 9-km (5.6-mile) hike, starting through Y Linh Ho and following the rice terraces along Muong Hoa Stream.
We'll pass through the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai, where you’ll have the chance to take in breathtaking views of the Hoang Lien Son Mountains. As the day winds down, we'll reach Ta Van Village, home to the Giay ethnic group.
After about 3.5 hours of hiking, we'll check in at a local homestay, where you’ll meet the Dzay family. Take some time to relax, enjoy the sunset, and even try your hand at cooking some local dishes. For those interested in socializing, a nearby local bar offers a lively atmosphere to meet other travelers before heading back to your bungalow for a peaceful night.
Day 2: Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Sapa - Hanoi
Start your day with a traditional breakfast prepared by the Dzay family, then set off on another scenic hike. We’ll walk through the rice paddies, stopping for photos along the way, before heading into a bamboo forest. A short trek will lead us to Giang Ta Chai, home of the Red Dzao people, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the village.
After about 2 hours (4 km or 2.5 miles) of walking, we’ll continue our journey across the Giang Ta Chai Bridge, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to the bungalow. There, you can shower and prepare for lunch, which will be served before we head to the bus station.
After lunch, you'll have some free time to explore Sapa Town or do a little shopping. We’ll then gather as a group and board the bus for our return journey to Hanoi. Finally, we’ll arrive back in Hanoi and say our goodbyes.
3-Day Tour
If you have more time, we recommend booking the 3-day tour. On this tour, we'll follow a similar itinerary as described above, but with an additional hike on day one and more time to spend. Check out the itinerary below:
Day 1: Hanoi - Sapa - Cat Cat Village
The morning of the first day is exactly the same as the 2-day tour, with pickup in Hanoi and transport to Sapa, where we'll have lunch.
After lunch, it'll be time to head to the vibrant Cat Cat Village, home to the Black Hmong people. This village, located at the foot of the breathtaking Fansipan Peak, is full of local charm.
Our local guide will show you the daily life of the villagers, and we’ll hike to a waterfall where the French built a hydraulic power station. After taking photos at the waterfall and rustic bridge, we’ll head back to Sapa for the evening, where we'll check into our hotel, and you'll enjoy dinner and some free time.
Day 2: Sapa - Ta Van
On this day, we'll wake up in Sapa and, after breakfast, we'll set off on the same hike as on day 1 of the 2-day tour. We'll trek along the Muong Hoa Stream to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai to see the Hoang Lien Son Mountains.
After the hike, we'll enjoy lunch of delicious Vietnamese dishes made by a local family. Feeling refreshed, we'll make our way into Ta Van Village.
In the afternoon, we'll check into the same local homestay as in day 1 of the 2-day tour, where we'll have dinner, spend the night and rest up for the next day.
Day 3: Ta Van - Sapa - Hanoi
On this day, we'll follow the same itinerary as described in day 2 of the 2-day tour. However, in this case, the route will be about 3 km (1.8 miles) and last 3.5 hours.
