8-Day Tunisia Tour
Itinerary
Day 1: Hammamet
Welcome to Tunisia! When you land, we'll be waiting for you at the arrivals terminal of Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport. We'll take you to the hotel so that you can leave your luggage. You'll have the rest of the day free to settle in and rest before starting the excursions the next day. In addition, dinner is included in your accommodation.
Day 2: Hammamet - El Djem - Matmata - Douz
We'll have breakfast at the hotel and go to the first destination of the day, the city of El Djem. There, we'll visit the jewel of Roman Africa, an amphitheatre built in these lands in the year 238. We'll explore this World Heritage building, remembering the races, games and shows that took place there.
Then, we'll continue our route to Matmata, famous for the troglodyte houses which stared in the Star Wars films. We'll explain how these rock-hewn dwellings were built before stopping for lunch in a traditional restaurant.
Back in the minibus, we'll cross the Douz desert, contemplating the beauty of these inhospitable landscapes. We'll walk through the sand dunes and, if you wish, you can take a camel ride.
We'll arrive at the hotel in Douz for dinner and to rest until the next day.
Day 3: Douz - Chott El Djerid - Tozeur
After breakfast, we'll leave the hotel in Douz and head to Chott El Djerid to see this saltwater lake. As you take photos, we'll tell you about the changes that these lands undergo throughout the year due to variations in the weather. We'll also reveal the curious optical effect that occurs here.
The final stop of the day will be Tozeur, where we'll have lunch. Then, we'll enjoy a guided visit of the Medina. We'll see the famous facade of its mosque, admire the peculiar architecture of this city and explore its traditional market before ending back at the hotel. Time for dinner!
Day 4: Tozeur - Kairouan- Hammamet
After breakfast at the hotel in Tozeur, we'll head north-east to visit Kairouan. Did you know that it's one of the oldest cities in Tunisia? Its history is closely linked to Islam, and to find out how, we'll visit the mosque of the Barber Sidi Sahbi, a faithful friend of the Prophet Mohammed!
We'll also visit the walled city, strolling through its souks and houses with white facades and blue windows. At lunchtime, we'll dine at a local restaurant before finally going to Hammamet to end the day with dinner and rest at the hotel.
Days 5, 6 and 7: Hammamet
You'll have days 5, 6 and 7 of this tour around Tunisia free to enjoy the hotel facilities. Plus, you'll only be metres away from the beaches in Hammamet, where you can relax on golden sand, sunbathe, swim and explore the coastal path, full of shops, bars and restaurants.
Without a doubt, it's the best way to disconnect and relax after several days filled with history and culture.
Day 8: Hammamet
On the last day, you'll also have breakfast included at the hotel. Finally, at the agreed time, we'll take you to Hammamet airport in time for your flight back home. Have a nice trip!
