Hamburg Boat Tour Options

When booking, you can choose between the following options, depending on whether you'd like to take the cruise either during the day or in the evening, or if you'd like to extend your experience.

1-Hour Cruise

At the indicated time, we'll meet at St. Pauli Landungsbrücken, ready to board the boat and begin our adventure.

As our route is tide-dependent, we'll either sail along the narrow canals of the Speicherstadt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015, or the wider harbour waters, ensuring we get the best possible views. On either route, as the hour sails by, we'll be captivated by Hamburg's vibrant skyline, learning about the landmarks we see with the help of an audio guide in English.

No matter which route we take, we'll sit back and relax as we enjoy breathtaking views of the city’s iconic landmarks, like the Internationales Maritimes Museum Hamburg or St. Catherine’s Church. We'll also see the striking Elbphilharmonie, or “Elphi,” Hamburg’s celebrated concert hall. With its wave-like glass design, this architectural marvel is sure to captivate as we glide past.

Along the tour, we’ll also pass by Hamburg’s distinctive red-brick warehouses, designed by renowned artist Michael Batz, which create a mesmerising sight as their reflections shimmer on the water’s surface. If you choose the evening light tour, the glow of the port itself—one of the largest ports in the world—will add to the magic of the experience, transforming the cityscape into a glittering sea of lights.

Lastly, we'll pass historic shipyards, either Norderwerft or Blohm & Voss, where we'll delve into their fascinating histories and learn about their modern operations, adding a unique touch to our evening journey.

Finally, after an hour in total, we'll return to the starting point, where we'll say our goodbyes.

Tour Route: Regardless of the time you choose, the 1-hour tour route will depend on the tides. We'll either follow the red or the blue route, as seen in the following map: Hamburg Cruise Routes.

1-Hour Sunset Cruise

This tour will follow the same itinerary as above, but you'll get to see the dazzling city of Hamburg in the evening when the glowing sunset and city lights add an entirely new dimension to the experience!

1.5-Hour Cruise

If you want to have the most complete experience, this option is for you! This extended cruise will also show you the main points in the Hamburg Harbour, as well as the massive container ships and the iconic warehouse district.

With more time to work with, we'll get to take our time at each landmark we pass, giving you a chance to really soak in the port's history and legacy. As we sail through Hafen City, you'll get the chance for an exclusive stop at the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, where you can choose to disembark and end your tour if you wish.

Depending on your selection, the meeting point will vary slightly:

• 1-Hour Sunset Cruise: Departures from St. Pauli Landungsbrücken, Brücke 4
• 1.5-Hour Cruise: Departures from Überseebrücke / Brandenburger Hafen (U3 Baumwall)
