Georges Island Ferry
Georges Island Ferry
We'll meet at the Cable Wharf, right along the Halifax waterfront. That's where we'll catch the ferry to Georges Island, an ideal destination for history buffs! Get ready to get to know a different side of Nova Scotia during your visit.
In just 10 minutes, we'll surf the waters of Halifax and arrive at the Goerge Island Port. From here, you're free to explore the island at your own pace, making sure not to miss a thing! Home to the historic Fort Warren, Georges Island also boasts one of the largest Civil War recreations in the country.
Constructed in 1833, this fort was built with the purpose of protecting the area during the war. On top of researching the region's history, we recommend strolling through the forests on the island. Enjoy breathtaking views of the coast of Halifax from a different perspective.
