Gubbio Private Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Piazza dei Quaranta Martiri, 40. We'll then kick off our exclusive experience in one of the oldest jewels of the Italian peninsula.
Gubbio, with marvellous monuments that testify to its glorious past, is rich in treasures and attractions with unknown origins. One of these would be the iconic Eugubine Tables, exhibited at the Civic Museum of the Palazzo dei Consoli. These are seven bronze plates found in the 15th century, some of which seem to date back as far as the 1st century BC.
Some other important legacies of Umbrian history would undoubtedly be the Roman Theatre, which stands just outside the walls, and the Basilica of Sant'Ubaldo. Its position atop the steep Mount Ingino gives the impression of it watching over the city. Here lie the remains of the patron saint of Gubbio, whose tenacity and vigorous dedication led the Italian city in victorious battles against neighbouring enemies.
Your guide will show you some more of the incredible architecture that affirms Gubbio's status as an emblem of 13th and 14th-century society. One of these spots is the Palazzo del Podestà, which is today the seat of the municipality and was once a shining example of opulence, power and nobility.
Another spot you'll visit on your private tour of Gubbio is the Public Gardens, which offer a peaceful place to relax. You'll also travel back in time to the medieval period when exploring the Piazza Quaranta Martiri in the lower part of the town, as it was once the site of a lively market.
After spending 3 hours immersed in the splendour of the past, our experience will come to an end. See you next time!
