Manglares Churute Reserve Day Trip

After picking you up from your hotel in Guayaquil at 8:30, we'll set off for the stunning Manglares Churute Ecological Reserve, just a 60-minute drive from the city.

Then it's on to the natural reserve itself! We'll begin with a tranquil boat ride around the mangrove forests, getting to know the different kinds of trees, flowers and plants native to the region, which are perfectly adapted to this tropical climate.

We'll also take in the largest estuary on the South American Pacific coast, and with a bit of luck, will be able to get up close and personal with the variety of birds that inhabit the wetlands, including herons, black cormorants and frigatebirds.

Finally, after the boat ride, we'll return to the bus and drop you back off at your hotel at approximately 4:30 pm.

We spent the day with Simon in the Manglares Churate Mangrove Reserve near Guayaquil. He grew up there and is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the animals that live there. His English was impeccable! We enjoyed going outside the city and seeing the various birds on boat cruise and howler moneys on our walk afterwards. I would highly recommend Simon and Civitatis Tour Company. Don't forget the bug spray! Thank you for a great day!

This was an fantastic trip. We saw lots of birds and monkeys. Simon was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and knew everyone we saw along the way. Clearly he was a local and spoke excellent English. I would highly recommend this tour with Simon.

We went to the reserve outside the city. It was about an hour drive. Our guide did a great job pointing things out along the way and answering any questions we had. We took a nice ride on the river and saw hundreds of birds. Our guide was very knowledgeable. We then went for a hike to see if we could find any monkeys. Our guide pointed out different things along the way. On the way back we stopped for dinner at a local restaurant. The trip felt well planned but not rushed at any point. Very good
