Learn all about how one of Ecuador's top products is made on our Hacienda Cacao y Mango Chocolate Tour from Guayaquil. If you've got a sweet tooth, this is the activity for you!

Hacienda Cacao y Mango Chocolate Tour

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and travel to the Hacienda Cacao y Mango for a delicious chocolate tour.

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with a welcome cocktail and the tour will begin. We'll first visit the cocoa, rice, tropical fruit, vanilla, banana and coffee plantations, among many other varieties of the 63 species of edible plants and 18 species of timber plants on the estate. Along the way, we'll learn about the richness of the local soil.

Once we've familiarised ourselves with the plantations, we'll go on to make chocolate. We'll also taste cocoa juice and different derivatives of fresh cocoa, such as handmade, roasted, ground, and so on. We'll also visit the conching and tempering workshop to enjoy a tasting of chocolates of different percentages. During the workshop, we'll learn how to make chocolate bars with dehydrated fruits of 50 grams.

Afterwards, you can visit the shop, where you'll be able to buy a wide range of products such as chocolate soaps and cocoa masks, hats, ground coffee and coffee beans, coffee jams, chilli jam, Jamaican flowers, leather handicrafts, and many more!

These products are sure to whet your appetite, so we'll enjoy a 3-course lunch that includes local ingredients grown on organic farms, delicious desserts made with seasonal fruits and, of course, some delicious touches of chocolate.

After lunch, you'll return to your hotel. Arrival is scheduled 6 hours after pickup.

Pickup, schedule, and meeting points

Tour from Naranjal: if you choose this option, at 10 or 11 am you'll have to get yourself to the Hacienda Cacao y Mango.

Add a visit to a vanilla greenhouse

If you choose this option, we'll go to Cerro Chico Pereque to visit one of the largest vanilla plantations in the region. There, we'll visit a vanilla greenhouse to learn about the process of cultivation, harvesting, fermentation and drying.
