In this coffee tour in San Rafael, we'll visit a coffee farm to learn step by step how this intense and aromatic product, famous all over the world, is produced.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Calle 32 in Guatapé and go to a coffee farm located in the San Rafael area.
To get there, once we get out of the vehicle, we'll walk the 5-kilometre trail (3.1 miles) to the farm. There, we'll be welcomed with a drink to get some energy before starting the tour through the hacienda, during which we'll discover all the steps followed for preparing intense Colombian coffee.
We'll begin the tour by visiting the coffee plantation, where we'll see how the plants on which the beans grow are planted and cultivated. We'll spend about 20 minutes seeing how the product is harvested and be able to pick the coffee beans ourselves.
The next step is washing, drying, and then roasting. Once the beans are well roasted, they'll go through the threshing process and then be ground. The coffee powder produced will be packaged. We'll also use some of it to make a coffee-based drink, which you'll taste at the end. You'll get to taste its intensity and flavor for yourself!
Finally, we'll walk back to the vehicle, which will be waiting to take us back to Guatapé. Arrival is scheduled 4 hours after pickup.
