Visit one of the first places Christopher Columbus set foot in on his famous voyage with thisGibara Day Trip from Guardalavaca - you'll fall in love with its colonial buildings!
Gibara Day Trip
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Guardalavaca at the scheduled time and take you to Gibara, also known as the white village. In just one hour, we'll have reached our destination.
The first thing we'll see is the imposing fort of Bateria Fernando VII. In 1817 the first stone of this defensive fortress was laid to protect the citizens from corsair attacks. Look at its whitewashed walls, which show us the vestiges of Cuba's colonial era.
Afterwards, we'll go down to the historical centre to visit the Natural History Museum, erected in the Plaza de Armas. There we'll learn about the peculiarities of the geology, botany and ornithology of the region. We'll also have the opportunity to contemplate the skeletons of a pilot whale and a sperm whale.
Time to take the camera out! We'll continue walking to the famous viewpoint of Gibara, where we'll admire a dazzling panorama of the city and the Atlantic. The next stop will be an ideal visit for lovers of caving and mystery, the Panadero Cave. Here we'll see an endless number of stalactites, stalagmites, and dozens of names of bakers on the walls.
To recover our strength, we'll return to the old town of Gibara and enjoy a delicious cocktail and a traditional lunch where you can choose between beef, chicken, pork, seafood, or chicken dishes. Enjoy!
To conclude the experience we'll drop you off at your hotel 8 hours after departure.
