PrivateGuangzhou City Tour
We'll pick you up at your hotel between 8:30 and 9 am to go to the Chen Family Ancestral Temple, one of the largest in the region. The main building, the six landscaped courtyards, the nine main halls and the nineteen outbuildings cover a total of 15,000 square metres. It is also considered one of the most beautifully decorated temples, so don't forget your camera!
Afterwards, we'll go to Shamian Island, a quiet and pleasant neighbourhood that stands out for its European architectural style buildings, a consequence of the English and French colonialism.
At lunchtime, we'll stop at a local restaurant to taste the exquisite Cantonese food (meal not included); it's definitely worth tasting one of the world's most famous cuisines.
Then we'll visit Yuexiu Park, the biggest in the city, where we'll walk past the many hills, lakes and monuments, such as the Zhenhai Tower. One of the most outstanding monuments is the Five Goats Statue, which symbolises the Cantonese legend relating to the famine during Ancient Guangzhou. It is said that five gods appeared on five goats to share 5 wheats.
We'll continue our tour by going to the Six Banyan Trees Temple, a Buddhist sanctuary that is more than 1500 years old. There you'll find another of the symbols of Guangzhou: the Flowers Pagoda, named because of the similarity between its roofs and the flower petals.
To finish the tour, we'll accompany you back to your hotel at around 5 pm.
