Tequila Factory and Archaeological Site

At the time indicated, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Guanajuato and head to Pénjamo, where the Corralejo factory can be found. Are you ready to learn about this tequila factory from the 18th century? Let's go!

After a 1.5-hour journey, we'll enter one of the most famous distilleries in the state of Guanajuato. On this guided visit around the factory, we'll see how agave is used to produce traditional Mexican tequila.

We'll discuss all the necessary phases to create this drink, from the harvest to the ageing process, passing through the ovens, mills and fermentation. You'll become real experts! In addition, you can participate in a tasting of this drink.

Then, you'll have free time to eat before boarding the minibus again and setting off south towards the Plazuela archaeological zone. This site will surprise you straight away due to the great preservation of its pyramids. We'll explain why it's said that these constructions were a landmark in Mesoamerica as we explore the squares, temples and palaces.

We'll travel back in time to the year 800 BC to learn all about the Chupicuaro culture and discover who the Toltecs were, also having links to these ruins.

After a 9-hour tour, we'll end the day back at your hotel.
