On our day trip to Liberia and the Santa Rosa National Park, we'll travel through incredible and biodiverse forests. We'll also visit different places that are significant to Costa Rican history.
Liberia & Santa Rosa National Park Day Trip
Between 7:30 and 8:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Guanacaste. We'll hop into our comfortable vehicle and set off on an adventure through the Santa Rosa National Park and Liberia, the capital of the province.
As we drive for 1 hour 30 minutes to our first destination of the day, we'll admire the incredible scenery that spans across this area and discuss the history of Costa Rica.
Welcome to the Santa Rosa National Park! We'll tell you all about the Casona de Santa Rosa, which is located inside this park. This historic monument is famous for being the site of the Battle of Santa Rosa.
During our trip, we'll venture into the Costa Rican rainforest to see a variety of wildlife. You'll see everything from jaguars to pumas and deer. If we're lucky, we may also see magpies and toucans.
Afterwards, we'll get back on the minibus and drive to Liberia, which is only an hour away from Santa Rosa. We'll also take a break at a restaurant to try casado, a traditional Costa Rican dish consisting of rice, beans, fried sweet plantain and meat or fish.
We'll then take a guided tour lasting 1 hour around the main monuments in Liberia's city centre.
Having spent 6 hours exploring this beautiful part of Costa Rica, we'll take you back to your hotel in Guanacaste.
