Guaduas Tour
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Calle 4 to delve into the history and main monuments of Guaduas. During the tour, we'll combine walking and minibus rides to get an overview of the whole town.
We'll travel back in time to the year 1572 to discover how Guaduas was founded and the links that bound the town to the Crown of Spain. Did you know that it was an important crossing point between Bogotá and Honda? We'll find out by seeing the ruins of the old Camino Real.
As we walk through Guaduas we'll see iconic spots such as the Constitution Square, the Cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel, the Casa Consistorial or the monument to Galán, known for being the leader of the rebellion of the 'comuneros', a combined force of peasants and artisans. We'll tell you the details of this historic revolt as we explore the Policarpa Salavarrieta House, where one of the heroines of Colombian independence known as 'La Pola' lived.
The tour will then take us to the convent of La Soledad. Erected in 1610, this place became the centre of spiritual life in the region for two centuries. Among the most prominent pilgrims who came to this place of worship is the name of Simón Bolívar.
After three hours of sightseeing, we'll finish the tour of Guaduas arriving back at the starting point.
