At 9 am we'll meet at Calle 4 in Guaduas and board a minibus that will take us to discover all the secrets of the sugar cane tradition in Colombia.
First of all, we'll stop at one of the most beautiful lakes around Guaduas. We'll enjoy the scenery and, if you want, you can take a dip.
Afterwards, we'll return to the vehicle and head for a sugar cane plantation. Once there, you'll be overcome by the wonderful fragrance! We'll learn how these plants are sown and cared for on a daily basis.
During the excursion, we'll see how sugar cane is transformed into panela, one of the most typical sweets in many Latin American countries. Do you know what a trapiche is? We'll see one of these mills and discover how it's used to obtain the juice from the sugar cane.
In addition, our visit to the sugar cane farm will end with a traditional lunch consisting of soup and a meat dish with rice, salad and banana leaf known as fiambre. You'll also have a lemonade included.
After lunch, we'll finish the excursion at 2 pm at the starting point.
