In this pottery workshop in Guaduas you can feel like a real potter and learn how to make one of the most famous handicrafts of the city, the ceramic hen.

Guaduas Ceramic Workshop

At a time of your choice, we'll meet at Calle 4 in Guaduas and board a minibus that will take us to a pottery workshop. Here, we'll put ourselves in the shoes of a potter, are you ready to learn how to handle clay?

We'll meet the master of the pottery workshop, a potter who has been working in this traditional art for 40 years. They'll help us to identify the different types of clay and to classify them according to the piece to be made.

We'll learn how to make a ceramic hen, a piece of handicraft that has become a symbol of Guaduas. We'll tell you how this animal came to be recognised throughout the region of Cundinamarca.

We'll mould the clay and give shape to our farm animal. Once the piece is ready, we'll bake it in the workshop's wood-fired oven so that it's completely ready. Then its ready to come home with you!

After two hours of activity, we'll finish the pottery workshop and return to the starting point.
