Tour of Tonalá and Tlaquepaque
Tour of Tonalá and Tlaquepaque
After picking you up in Guadalajara at the indicated time, we'll head to the nearby town of Tonalá. We'll learn about the history of this small town and discover its main monuments, such as the Parish of Santiago Apostol and the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Did you know that Tonalá is known for being a famous artisan center?
During the tour, you'll be able to admire carefully crafted works made with blown glass, ceramics, and iron as we walk by its old colonial mansions. We'll also visit the street market of Tonalá, where people from all over the region come to buy handicrafts.
Then, we'll drive to Tlaquepaque, a small town famous for its colonial architecture and quality wood and leather handicrafts. As we stroll through the cobblestone streets and browse the craft stalls of Tlaquepaque, we'll discover the history of this municipality founded in 1530.
We'll pass by some workshops where we'll see the artisans making their products and learn about the particularities of their craft. You'll then have free time to stroll around Tlaquepaque at your leisure and have lunch at one of the local restaurants on your own.
Following lunch, we'll return to Guadalajara, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel 6 to 7 hours after pickup.
