Tour to Tequila + Jose Cuervo Express Train
At 8 am, we'll meet at Casa José Cuervo in San Pedro Tlaquepaque. There, we'll board a bus that will take us to the agave fields of the town of Tequila, where we'll delve into the origin of the country's most popular drink!
Tequila comes from agave, a very striking plant adapted to arid climates. We'll first see how this plant is cultivated and then attend a jima demonstration.
Then, we'll visit the La Rojeña distillery of José Cuervo, one of the most famous tequila brands in Mexico. We'll reveal the secrets of this drink and learn all the details of its elaboration process!
Of course, during the visit to the distillery, we'll taste different varieties of tequila accompanied by a light snack. Also, at the Jose Cuervo facilities, we'll visit the Juan Beckmann Gallardo cultural center, where we'll learn about the past of these lands.
You'll then have 2 hours free to have lunch and explore the town of Tequila. Be sure to visit the 17th-century parish church of Santiago Apóstol! Later, we'll meet again to go watch a Mexican folklore and mariachi music show.
After the show, we'll head to the Jose Cuervo Express station, the only old-style train in Mexico. Aboard the train, we'll be able to admire a magical sunset over the agave fields – a truly unforgettable moment!
Finally, we'll end our excursion to Tequila at 8 pm at the Ferrocarriles Mexicanos station in Guadalajara.
