Tour to Tequila
Tour to Tequila
At the agreed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Guadalajara and head to Tequila. After an hour's drive, we'll reach this town, the birthplace of Mexico's most famous drink!
First, we'll explore the beautiful agave fields that surround Tequila. We'll learn all about the cultivation of this plant and how it's harvested. From here, we'll also be able to see the Tequila volcano, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its great variety in climate and vegetation.
Then, we'll continue the excursion with a visit to a tequila distillery. We'll learn about the history of tequila and the stages of its production, from the harvesting of the agaves to the aging in oak barrels. At the end of the tour, we'll have a tequila tasting so you can taste authentic Mexican tequila!
Afterwards, we'll visit the town of Tequila, where you'll have free time for lunch in one of the local restaurants or markets. You'll be able to discover the local gastronomy while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of this beautiful colonial town.
Finally, we'll head back to Guadalajara, arriving between 5 pm and 6 pm.
Visit to the Jose Cuervo Distillery
If you'd like, you can opt to visit the prestigious Jose Cuervo distillery, aka La Rojeña, instead of the distillery mentioned in the above itinerary. If you select this option, we'll reduce the amount of free time in Tequila to make time for this visit.
