Mazamitla & El Salto Waterfall Day Trip
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Guadalajara to begin our day trip to Mazamitla, located in the heart of the Sierra del Tigre. During the 2.5-hour drive, we’ll share the history and interesting facts about this Magic Town.
Upon arriving in Mazamitla, we’ll start with a 45-minute walking tour through the charming cobblestone streets of the historic center. We’ll admire the colonial-style houses with red-tile roofs and flower-filled balconies.
We'll visit the exterior of the parish church of San Cristobal, an architectural gem, and pass by the main square, where you can enjoy the fountain and browse the local handicraft shops.
Next, we’ll embark on a hiking trail to the El Salto waterfall, one of Mazamitla’s most stunning natural attractions. The soothing sound of the water and the peaceful surroundings will captivate you.
Afterward, we’ll return to the village, where you’ll have 1.5 hours of free time to explore on your own. You can shop for local products or savor the regional cuisine. Be sure to try traditional dishes like lamb al pastor, enchiladas, and pozole!
Finally, we’ll head back to Guadalajara and drop you off at your hotel after an approximately 8-hour day trip.
