Ajijic + Lake Chapala Tour
Ajijic + Lake Chapala Tour
After picking you up from the meeting point in Guadalajara at 10:30 am, we'll set off on our tour. Let's go!
Firstly, we'll make a stop at the ranch of Vicente Fernandez, the home of the famous Mexican singer and actor.
Then, we'll visit a tequila factory, where we'll learn about the artisanal production process behind this typical Mexican product. While we're here, we'll also try some shots of tequila and other house liquors.
At 2 pm, we'll take you to a nearby restaurant where you'll have 1 hour of free time to have some lunch. We'll then hop on a boat and take a pleasant boat trip on Chapala Lake. During the boat trip, we'll probably see pelicans, ducks and herons - cameras at the ready!
Once we're back on dry land, we'll visit Ajijic, one of Mexico's Magic Towns (Pueblos Mágicos). This enchanting town is where many European intellectuals fleeing political persecution once lived. As we stroll around the town, we'll admire the colourful murals and art galleries that appear at every turn. We'll also admire the beautiful facade of St. Andrew Parish, an 18th-century building with two distinct components.
The last stop of the day will be Chapala. When we arrive, we'll visit its most iconic spots, such as St. Francis Parish and the town square. Did you know that this land was originally inhabited by Nahuatl tribes?
We'll get back on the bus and return to Guadalajara, dropping you back at the initial meeting point at 7 pm.
