Úbeda & Baeza Excursion
Úbeda & Baeza Excursion
At 9 am, we'll meet at Plaza de las Descalzas where we'll board a bus and hit the road to Baeza. The trip from Granada will take about an hour and a half.
Once we arrive at our first destination of the day, we'll leave you 4 hours of free time to explore and have lunch in this World Heritage City. Did you know that, along with Úbeda, it's considered the capital of the Renaissance in Andalusia? Some of the scenes from the movie Alatriste were also filmed here!
The Fountain of St Mary, the Aliatares Tower, the Cathedral, the Jabalquinto Palace, the Seminary of San Felipe Neri and the old University of Baeza are just some of the emblematic places that you'll be able to visit. You'll also find a sculpture of the famous poet Antonio Machado, a tribute to the seven years he lived in Baeza.
Then, we'll return to the bus and head to Úbeda, another of the most beautiful cities in the province of Jaén. We'll take a guided tour of an hour and a half through its historic center to delve into its past and reveal lots of interesting facts about the city.
While we walk around Úbeda, we'll see the exteriors of emblematic buildings such as the Holy Chapel of El Salvador, the Basilica of Santa María de los Reales Alcázares and the Vazquez de Molina Palace, also known as the Palace of the Chains. In this beautiful Renaissance villa, we'll leave you an hour and a half of free time for lunch. You won't be able to stop taking pictures of this stately palace!
We'll finish the excursion between 4 and 5 pm, arriving back at the starting point in Granada.
