Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll depart from Plaza de Mariana Pineda in Granada towards the Sierra Nevada National Park, one of the most beautiful mountainous areas of the Betic Cordilleras.
During the tour, we'll pass by emblematic places such as the Roman gold mine of Cenes de la Vega, the Camino de los Neveros, the banks of the river Genil and the gorge of Los Cahorros del río Monachil. Having passed by these sites, we'll arrive at the National Park, which spans both the provinces of Granada and Almeria.
Once we arrive at our destination, we'll take a tour of Sierra Nevada, in which we'll combine walking and driving in an offroading vehicle. During this tour, we'll observe from a distance some of the most spectacular elevations of the mountain range, such as the Mulhacén and Veleta peaks. What's more, we'll have the opportunity to see and even touch the snow at almost 2,500 meters (8,202 feet). Plus, there's a panoramic restaurant where we'll stop to have a drink while soaking up the incredible view.
Throughout our route, we'll learn all about the flora and fauna of this natural environment, declared a Biosphere Reserve due to its rich biodiversity. The landscapes of Sierra Nevada have also been the setting for several TV shows, movies, and even commercials! Do you know the amazing myths and legends that surround these mountains?
At the end of the tour, you'll have about 2 hours of free time in the ski resort of Sierra Nevada, where you can rest and recharge or simply enjoy the panoramic views.
Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in Granada, where we'll conclude this 7-hour tour.
