Roman Villa of Salar Day Trip
Roman Villa of Salar Day Trip
At 11 am, we'll meet in the Plaza plaza de las Descalzas in Granada. We'll hop aboard our minibus and set off on the 45-minute drive to the village of Salar.
When we get there, we'll start exploring one of the most important Roman residences in the Iberian Peninsula. We'll admire some of its main rooms, such as the central courtyard, the bedrooms and the dining room. As we wander around the site, we'll observe how well-preserved the Roman mosaics are and discuss what they symbolise.
After visiting the Roman Villa of Salar, we'll head inside the Visitor Centre to delve a little deeper into the history of this residence. We'll discover how it was inhabited between the 1st and 6th centuries and then forgotten until it was discovered almost by chance in 2004.
You'll then have 2 hours of free time to explore the beautiful village of Salar and sample some of the delicious local gastronomy.
We'll get back on our minibus and return to the starting point, where we'll arrive at 4 pm.
