Granada's Arab Legacy Free Tour

  • 76 reviews | 1,022 travellers
We did the tour with Pablo, a young but academically well-prepared young man. Very friendly and pleasant, we got to know a part of Granada and its history that, despite having been there many times, we still didn't know. It was a pleasure, we recommend it.

Granada's Arab Legacy Tour

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Placeta de San Miguel Bajo and set off on our tour of the Granada of Al-Andalus. During the free tour, we'll delve into the Muslim culture in Granada and visit three important monuments that will allow us to discover what life was like in this city between the eighth and fifteenth centuries

We'll first visit the palace of Dar Al-Horra, considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Did you know that the mother of Sultan Boabdil lived here? We'll walk through the different rooms of the palace and we'll explain how this monument was built on the ruins of another Nasrid construction belonging to Mohamed I.

Afterwards, we'll walk to the Nasrid Maristan, which was founded by Sultan Muhammad V in the 14th century as the first hospital in Granada. You'll learn all about its fascinating history.

We'll leave the Chapiz house and walk to the Bañuelo, one of the best-preserved Arab baths in Spain. Afterwards, we'll discover the Casa del Horno del Oro, where we'll see a typical Moorish settlement and learn about all its interesting details.

After 2 hours and 15 minutes together, we'll bring this free tour to an end by saying our goodbyes at Paseo de los Tristes, from where we'll have some amazing views of the Alhambra.
