The Dolmens and the Torcal are two of the great treasures within this municipality of Malaga, discover them with this Antequera Day Trip from Granada.

Antequera Day Trip

We'll leave Granada and head west towards the nearby province of Malaga. Before arriving, we'll go past the Peña de Los Enamorados, one of the most striking hills in this area of Andalusia.

Then our next stop will be just 10 minutes away at the Archaeological Site of the Dolmens of Antequera, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here at this important megalithic site, one of the most important in southern Spain, we'll learn about the prehistoric society of the Neolithic period that inhabited these lands thousands of years ago.

The tour will continue by visiting Antequera's historic centre. Its main monuments include the Alcazaba and the Santa María La Mayor Collegiate church, one of the city's Renaissance jewels. After the walk through the old town, you'll have a few minutes of free time.

At the time agreed, we'll meet again to go to the Torcal de Antequera a karst rocky landscape characterised by the curious shapes that its geological formations take on. This unique natural environment dates back to none other than the Jurassic period! After the visit to El Torcal we'll return to Granada.

Muy buen Tour, recorrimos lugares como Los Dolmenes, la ciudad de Antequera con su centro histórico y El Torcal, un lugar muy lindo con unas formaciones rocosas fascinantes. Hubieron 2 guías, uno era Carlos que además ofició de chófer, con el que recorrimos Los Dolmenes y el Torcal. Demostró mucho conocimiento y muy amena su explicación de lo que estábamos viendo. Very good Tour, we visited places like Los Dolmenes, the city of Antequera with its historic center and El Torcal, a very beautiful place with some fascinating rock formations. There were 2 guides, one was Carlos who also acted as a driver, with whom we toured Los Dolmenes and El Torcal. He showed a lot of knowledge and his explanation of what we were seeing was very entertaining. The same for the Antequera guide. Very correct and very knowledgeable about the history of the city. Básicamente escogí esta excursión por el Trocal de Antequera. No me arrepiento de haber pagado el precio porque me quede boqui abierto con ese paraje tan bello. La posibilidad de poder ver la fauna local salvaje le da un punto muy a favor. Y si te gusta ser un cabra mas es divertido ponerse a escalar las rocas y saltar de una en una.
