Alhambra + Nasrid Palaces Guided Tour Without Tickets
Tour Details
If you already have your ticket to the Alhambra in Granada, you can explore this incredible monument with a guide. We'll start the tour of this World Heritage Site at the cafe on the Avenida del Generalife, by the ticket offices.
Taking into account the time on your ticket, we'll start the tour with a guided tour of the Nasrid Palaces in the Alhambra. They are three residences where the old governors of the Nasrid Kingdom lived: the Mexucar Palace, the Comares Palace and the Lions Palace. In the last one, we'll see the patio and fountain that gave it its name, and which are without a doubt a real gem of Andalusian architecture.
We'll continue our tour of the Alhambra by visiting the Alcazaba, a military area that protected the palace. In this ancient fortress from the 8th century, we'll see the remains of the Plaza de Armas. We'll also learn about the history of the first defensive watchtowers, including the Torre de la Vela and Torre de la Pólvora towers.
After uncovering the history of the Alcazaba, we'll head to the Generalife Palace to visit its beautiful Arabic-style gardens. Here, we'll discover how water was an essential element in Islamic cultures. In fact, the sound of the fountains and the running water of the irrigation canals are its main attractions.
Finally, we'll end this tour after a total of 3 hours in the Alhambra. Before leaving the complex, with your ticket, you can visit the other sites in the Alhambra without a guide, such as the Medina, Carlos V Palace, the Partal Gardens and the Generalife Lower Gardens. These areas can be visited various times throughout the duration of your valid ticket.
Please be aware that, once we leave the Alcazaba, the Nasrid Palaces and the Generalife Palace, we can't go back inside them.
