Oban, Glencoe & West Highland Castles Tour
Oban, Glencoe & West Highland Castles Tour
We'll meet at 8:45 am at the meeting point indicated in Glasgow to begin our tour. As we head west and cross the Firth of Clyde you'll see the impressive Dumbarton Castle, the longest recorded history of a stronghold. Our first stop will be Inverary, where you can either visit the Castle, home to the Duke of Argyll, or explore the 18th century town. With both options, you'll see stunning views of Loch Fyne.
From here, the tour will head towards the Highlands. While we travel north we'll take in the beautiful sights of the castles and lochs including Kilchurch Castle, on the Loch Awe banks. You'll want to have your camera ready for one of the most photographed castles in Scotland!
Next, we'll make our way to Oban, known as the 'Gateway to the Isles'. You'll have free time to have lunch in the quaint fishing town as well as explore the bay and the iconic McCaig's Folly, which will be sure to remind you of another famous monument. The tour will continue on past Castle Stalker on the island of Loch Laich, before arriving in Glencoe, one of the most haunting glens in Scotland.
During the return journey to Glasgow, you'll have the chance to admire the unique views of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount. Our final stop will be the village of Luss on the banks of Loch Lomond.
The tour will end arriving back in Glasgow at 6:30 pm.
