    It was a very special experience full with knowledge, kindness and good company. It was good to go to the pyramids but the real value was the knowledge that our tour guide Sheriff share with us, it gave us the sense and imagination to step thousands of years in the past in our walking tour.     Sherif was an amazing guide — kind, funny, and full of interesting explanations. He was also super punctual, which I really appreciated. He gave us lots of tips and made sure we stayed inside the pyramid complex away from the scammers. I totally recommend doing the pyramid tour with him!

History

Located on the west bank of the Nile River are some of the most iconic marvels of ancient architecture. Constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom (2580-2560 BC), the Pyramids of Giza are thought to have served as pharaoh's tombs.

The Great Pyramid, the largest of the three, was considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and is the only one which remains largely intact today.

When should I visit the pyramids?

The best time to see the pyramids would be between November and February, during Egyptian winter. Temperatures will be cooler, but it'll generally still be sunny and warm, making for a more comfortable visit. However, these months are also among the busiest in Giza, meaning that hotel prices will be slightly higher.

How to get to the pyramids

Via public transport, you can get to the pyramids by taking metro line 1 to Giza station and then a tour bus. You can also take a taxi or an Uber from the city centre, which will take around 30 minutes.
