Are you passionate about the history of Ancient Egypt? On this free tour of the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, we'll learn about the fascinating age of the pharaohs.

Giza Pyramids & Sphinx Free Tour

We'll start this free tour of the pyramids of Giza at 8 am in front of the ticket office of this famous necropolis of Ancient Egypt, declared a World Heritage Site.

First, we'll take a walk next to the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos, built during the IV dynasty of Pharaonic Egypt. We'll stop in front of these colossal constructions of Antiquity to photograph them from below and learn in detail how they were erected.

Then, we'll visit a cemetery belonging to the head of the royal court of the pharaoh Khufu, also known as Cheops. In this cemetery we'll see the hieroglyphs carved on the walls, which offer invaluable historical insights into the fascinating history of Ancient Egypt.

After visiting the cemetery, we'll approach the Great Sphinx of Giza to admire closely this legendary stone guardian. Its imposing figure, with a lion's body and a human's head, guards the entrance to the enormous funerary complex behind it.

Finally, at 11:30 am, we'll conclude the free tour of Giza by the Great Sphinx. At the end of the tour, you'll be free to visit on your own those parts of the pyramid complex that have caught your attention.

It was a very special experience full with knowledge, kindness and good company. It was good to go to the pyramids but the real value was the knowledge that our tour guide Sheriff share with us, it gave us the sense and imagination to step thousands of years in the past in our walking tour. Unica pecca, la visita guidata è forse un po' lunga (4 ore), lasciando così meno tempo per eventuali visite all'interno delle piramidi, e in alta stagione può essere un po' troppo affollata. The visit was very interesting, the guide is very knowledgeable and engaging. It was a great way to visit the pyramids. The only flaw, the guided tour is perhaps a little long (4 hours), thus leaving less time for any visits inside the pyramids, and in high season it can be a little too crowded. Opinion translated. Sherif was an amazing guide — kind, funny, and full of interesting explanations. He was also super punctual, which I really appreciated. He gave us lots of tips and made sure we stayed inside the pyramid complex away from the scammers. I totally recommend doing the pyramid tour with him!
