Dali Tour of Figueres and Cadaques
Dali Tour Details
We will meet up at Plaça de Sant Feliu in Girona at 8:30 am and head to Figueres. This is the town where the famous surrealist artist Salvador Dalí was born. Dalí constructed his own museum over the remains of the old theatre of Figueres, where he displayed the huge number of works of art he made over the course of his life.
For around two hours, we will explore the Dalí Theatre-Museum, discovering the artist's most renowned works including Port Alguer, Muchacha de Figueres, La Cesta de Pan, and Galarina, among many many others.
Once you have seen the artist's work, we will head to the different locations that marked the passage of his life. our first stop is Cadaqués, where Dalí would spend his summer holidays as a child. This beautiful fishing village on the spectacular Costa Brava was an important influence on the artist and this is reflected in the work he made during his youth.
We will continue our tour at Cap de Creus. This magnificent natural park area is characterized by its windswept craggy landscapes and hidden coves of deep blue ocean. This area was an inspiration in the life and work of Dalí and we will see the exterior of the home he established in the bay of Port Lligat.
Afterwards, we'll arrive in Cadaqués, one of the most beautiful villages in the Costa Brava. Here, we'll go on a guided tour and learn all about the local pirate and sailor legends. We'll also visit the Church of Santa Maria, which houses one of Cadaqués' most well-protected treasures.
We'll then return to Girona, where we'll arrive between 6 pm and 6:30 pm.
