Gozo Day Trip

Having picked you up at your hotel we make our way to the Cirkewwa port to the North of the island, from where we'll take a ferry to Gozo. Over 20 minutes you'll see the island take shape in front of you, as well as passing by the little island of Comino, another of the islands which makes up the Maltese peninsula.

The boat docks in the picturesque port of Mgarr, the most southerly port on the island of Gozo. Having disembarked, the tour climbs aboard the bus which will take us to the first stop on the tour: the megalithic temples of Ggantija, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll visit this stunning archaeological complex to understand the history of the religious monuments - even older than the pyramids of Egypt!

Our next stip is in the city of Victoria, capital of the island of Gozo. As we tour the citadel which surrounds the centre, we'll learn about the history of the walled city, whose impregnable fortifications were no object for terrible enemies... Then having explored Victoria, we'll fuel up with lunch in a restaurant in the centre, with a three-course menu with wine.

Having eaten we continue our route around Gozo, heading towards the south of the island. here we'll visit Xlendi Cove, known for its lively atmosphere and paradisical surroundings. Then finally we'll head to the impressive Fungus Rock and the Dwejra Lagoon - if you're fans of Game of Thrones than perhaps you'll recognise this as the place where Khal Drogo marries Daenerys Targaryen...

From the lagoon, we head back to the Mgarr port, from where we'll take the ferry back to the Cirkewwa port. There the bus will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.

Important Information

On Mondays, the tour does not visit the megalithic temples of Ggantija, but there will be more time free for shopping and you will see "Gozo 360º", an audiovisual show.
