Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll start this guided tour of Gibraltar at Grand Casemates Square. Ready to get to know this British Overseas Territory on the Iberian Peninsula?

Casemates Square is Gibraltar's main square. This spot dates back to the Arab period of 1160, although the current square was built in 1817. It was originally a barracks for the garrison of Gibraltar, but nowadays it's filled with shops and restaurants and is the centre of all celebrations.

We'll first go to Landport Gate, which was historically the only entrance to the fort in Gibraltar. This access was guarded by 20 canons, making it one of the most fortified spots.

Afterwards, we'll head over to the Irish Town, named after the Irish soldiers who settled here at the end of the 18th century. The route will then continue onto War Memorial Steps, King's Bastion, and Bomb House Lane

Our next stop will be in front of The Convent, the official residence of the Governor, who represents the monarchy in Gibraltar. Originally, this building was called la Turba, which was the residence for poorer people. If we're lucky, we'll get to see the changing of the guard, Gibraltar's version of the daily parade that takes place outside Buckingham Palace in London.

Lastly, we'll go to the Cemetery of Trafalgar and, after a total of 2 hours, this walking tour will come to an end at Main Street, the vibrant shopping centre in Gibraltar.

Guided Tour + Winetasting

If you would like to get the full experience, we recommend selecting the guided tour and winetasting option. If you select this option, we'll sit down for a wine tasting at the conclusion of the tour. You'll taste 3 varieties of wine accompanied by a selection of cheese and ham.
