What does the capital of East Flanders taste like? To find out, at the indicated time, we'll start this free food tour of Ghent at the Hostel Uppelink.
First, we'll cross the River Lys over St. Michael's Bridge and head into the historic centre of Ghent, where we'll sample various Belgian gastronomic specialities. These tastings will vary according to the season, but there will be no shortage of typical products such as traditional waffles.
Along the way, you'll also visit bars and street food stalls located around Korenmarkt Square, St. Nicholas Church and St. Bavo's Cathedral. In the vicinity of these iconic landmarks, you can enjoy classic Belgian fries.
We'll continue the tour in other areas of Ghent's old town, where we'll continue tasting other iconic Belgian products such as its delicious chocolates. They are irresistible! We'll also give you a ticket to taste a typical beer at the famous Gentse Gruut Brouwerij brewery.
Finally, after a 1.5-hour tour, we'll conclude the free tour in the most central streets of Ghent's Old Town.
