Guided Tour of Georgetown
Guided Tour of Georgetown
We'll meet at the indicated time next to the Parliament Building, right at the intersection of Brickdam St and Avenue of the Republic, in Georgetown. Once we're all assembled, we'll set off on this guided walking tour of the capital of Guyana. Let's get started!
First, we'll start walking towards the east until we reach one of the main attractions of the city, the Stabroek Market. We'll head inside this huge metallic building to experience the vibrant hustle-bustle of the local population who come here to buy all kinds of products, from handicrafts to fruits and vegetables.
After having lived the cultural essence of Guyana, we'll explore the streets of the "Garden City" and contemplate its beautiful colonial-style buildings - the perfect way to immerse ourselves in the history of the city!
Afterwards, we'll stop at St. George's Anglican Cathedral, the tallest wooden church in the world. We'll learn all sorts of fun facts about this architectural marvel while enjoying its beautiful exterior. Finally, head over to Bourda Market, where we'll quench our thirst with a refreshing drink of coconut water, the cherry on top of this guided tour!
We'll end the tour after about 2.5 hours back at the entrance of the market.
