The Cayman Islands are much more than just beaches. Discover what they have to offer on this trip to the crystal caves and Pedro St. James, so you can learn about the island's history and culture.
Pedro St James Castle, Mission House and Crystal Caves
At 8 am we'll pick you up from your accommodation in George Town and head east to Pedro St. James, also known by the locals as Peter's Castle. This century-old building is located just 20 minutes from George Town and is one of the most important historical sites in Grand Cayman. We'll watch a multimedia presentation and learn all about the history of this house and its relation to slavery in the 18th century.
Then we'll head to Mission House to continue learning about the country's history. The mission house, located in Bodden Town, is a building that gained great importance in 1800 as it was the missionaries' place of residence; the teachers and families who were responsible for building the village church. During the visit, the guide will tell us some fascinating stories.
Last but not least, we'll go to the Cayman Crystal Caves, caves that were discovered just a few years ago and have now been opened for tourism. On the visit, you'll find out why they're called crystal caves along with many other interesting facts!
At the end of the tour we'll make our way back to your accommodation or the cruise port in George Town, where we'll arrive by 1 pm.
