This deserves far more attention. The tour was absolutely excellent and Mariana took very good care of us. The tour was not what we were expecting, and it was more of a curated journey. We tasted some of the best vodka we'd ever had and had the chance to talk to some distillers. Thankfully the shots were half measures so drinking all 8 was not hard work. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to come to Gdansk and learn the story and variety of vodka.

Discover the history of one of Poland's most precious elixirs with this Gdansk Vodka Tasting. You'll feel like a real Pole!

Gdansk Vodka Tasting

At the time of your choice, we'll meet at a bar-restaurant located in the heart of Gdansk's historic centre. From here we'll start our vodka tour.

For 1 hour 30 minutes, we'll enjoy 6 shots of traditional vodka in different venues. We'll get to know the Polish national drink up close, the most popular brands and its citrus, nut and molasses varieties, among others. Did you know that vodka originated as a remedy for digestive diseases? It began to be used in the Middle Ages as medicine for gastric problems and could be bought in pharmacies at the time.

During the tour, we'll also be treated to different aperitifs to pair with this drink. We'll also hear interesting stories such as the prohibition of vodka by Tsar Nicholas II in 1914 or the relationship of this liquor with gunpowder.

Finally, we'll end the tour in the streets of the centre of Gdansk.
