Garopaba Cachaça Tour
Garopaba Cachaça Tour
We'll pick you up at 2:30 pm at your hotel to start this cachaça tour of Garopaba. During the tour, we'll learn how this popular drink, typical of the state of Santa Catarina, is derived from the flour of cassava, also known as yuca or manioc.
First, we'll visit the artisanal distillery of Alambique do Vô Zeca, where we'll observe the process of making cachaça and, of course, taste it for ourselves. But what are the origins of this spirit? We'll find out at our next stop, the archaeological site of Praia da Vigia.
Then we'll head to the historic center of Garopaba where we'll continue to discover the history and production process of cachaça. This liquor, however, is not the only product that boosted the local economy. To get to know the city's other great industry, we'll also visit the Armação Baleeira de São Joaquim de Garopaba, a structure that was historically used for whaling.
The last stop will take place at the home workshop of a local craftsman where we'll see various instruments related to cachaça and other industries characteristic of the state of Santa Caterina.
Following our visit to the workshop, we'll return to your hotel in Garopaba, where we'll arrive at 6:30 pm.
